The English Language Centre at UTAS Shinas, in collaboration with the Community Engagement Committee, organized a two-day workshop titled "Improve Your Interview Skills." The community workshop, held on campus from 11th to 12th June 2023, aimed to equip participants with essential insights on excelling in job interviews by formulating impressive answers and practicing common interview questions. 

Led by Ms. Razwana Khawaja, an ELC lecturer at UTAS Shinas, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for job seekers in the community to enhance their interview techniques and boost their confidence. Ms. Razwana emphasized the significance of effective interview skills in today's competitive job market. With her expertise in communication and extensive experience in guiding students towards professional success, she fostered an engaging and interactive environment that encouraged active participation from attendees. 

Over the course of two days, participants explored various aspects of the interview process, including key ‘dos and don'ts’ when facing potential employers. Different interview formats, such as one-on-one interviews, panel interviews, and behavioral interviews, were also discussed, ensuring attendees were well-prepared for any scenario. Ms. Razwana shared invaluable strategies for crafting coherent and concise responses that effectively showcased participants' skills and experiences. Attendees received guidance on researching companies and tailoring their answers to align with organizational values and objectives. 

The workshop incorporated mock interview sessions and participants received constructive feedback, to further enhance the learning experience. The positive feedback from participants underscored the importance of such initiatives in empowering job seekers within the community. The ELC at UTAS Shinas continues to play a vital role in fostering personal and professional development within the community, equipping individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving job market
