ELC celebrates 48th Oman National Day
The English Language Center (ELC) celebrated 48th Oman National Day, on November 18, 2018, at 2nd Floor Lobby, ELC Building.
The festivity was attended by Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mamari, together with the ELC Head Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi, ELC Heads of Sections (HoSs) Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Hashil Al-Saadi and Mr. Nasser Abdullah Al-Hindasi, and other heads of Departments and Center within the College.
The celebration began with the singing of the National Anthem of the Sultanate, followed by recitation of verses from the Holly Qur’an.
English Club (EC) member Hamda Ali Al-Mazroui gave a brief history of how Oman achieved its current state with the leadership of His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, followed by a video of ELC teachers from different parts of the globe congratulating Oman using their native language.
A video compilation of Omani scholars currently studying in different universities outside Oman extending their warm wishes for the country was also played followed by an exhibition of magic tricks using a deck of cards by EC member Ahmed Al Sharqi.
The organizers then invited the heads to write a short message commemorating the celebration on a prepared board designed for the said purpose.
At the end of the celebration, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous snack prepared by the organizing committee, the Student Support Committee, in coordination with the English Club.
