2nd year Diploma students from the Department of Business Administration visited Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC), Suhar Port Area, on March 20, 2024. 

Ms. Fatema al Khuzaimi, SIPC CSR specialist and overall in charge for coordinating the visit welcomed everyone on behalf of SIPC. She gave a brief summary about the startup story of the company and keenly emphasized its role and strategic importance geographically on the global map. She also highlighted the company’s contribution to Oman’s economy.  

Additionally, Ms. Haifa Al Alawi- HR Specialist showed an in-depth presentation dealing with compensation system in the organization by focusing on wide range of monetary and non-monetary benefits. The presentation delves deeper in the core recruitment practices and strategies adopted at SIPC in alignment with Oman Vision 2040 and Omanization programme. 

The visit equipped students with insights and key inputs relating to practical applicability of core HR functions especially on the aspects of compensation and recruitment. 

The students were accompanied by HR lecturers Mr. Subhash Kodiyil Raman and Dr. Geeta Thakur.
