ShCT Attends the 2015 ICOET Workshop
Four staff and six students from different departments represented the Shinas College of Technology on the recently concluded Third International Conference of the Omani Society for Educational Technology held at Gulf College, Muscat Oman last March 25-26, 2015.
The team was headed by the following staff Ms. Muna Al-Mamari- Engineering, Mr. Saleem Jaya Abdul Samad-IT, Mr. Mohammed Zaheer Al Deen-Business, and Mr. Sidney Souribio-ETC and the students were represented by:

Sponsored by Omani Society for Educational Technology and Gulf College, the workshops covered the importance exploring updated technologies and their relation to teaching and learning, as well as determining the feasibility of educational technologies on educational institution’s set-up by understanding solutions to accommodate/ employ them.
With the two days of workshops and project presentations, topics on Open Educational Resources, Implications of Social Networks in Teaching and Learning, MOOCS, Cloud Computing, LMS, E-Books and Instructional Games were a few that gained interest of the participants.
Dr. Mohammed Ally –Professor of Mobile Learning, E-Learning and Distance Education at Athabasca University, Canada and Dr. Salah Ayeh Al-Sharhan, Doctorate in System Design and Engineering at Gulf University for Science and Technology, Kuwait were the keynote speakers. The workshop was attended by faculty and students from different colleges and universities in Oman.
