OAAA Officials conduct Pilot GFP Audit Workshop
Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) Officials conducted a one-day Pilot General Foundation Program (GFP) Audit Workshop at Multi-Purpose Hall, Engineering Building, Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) on 21st May 2015.
The team was headed by Dr. Adam Bisco, the Quality Assurance (QA) Consultant, together with other QAAA officials Dr. Nasser Al Hinai (QA Expert for GFP), and Dr. Tess Goodliffe (Deputy CEO for Technical Affairs).
The workshop was attended by the Head of Center (HoC), English Language Center (ELC), Head of Sections (English Language Program, Curriculum and Teaching Methodologies), ELC, the Head of Department (HoD), Information Technology (IT), Head of Sections (Mathematics and IT), IT, QA Coordinators (ELC and IT ), Quality Assurance Administrative Members, Testing Unit Members, and ShCT GFP Team.
There were five sessions in the said workshop: An Overview of the Quality Management System (QMS) in Higher Education (HE) in Oman and a background to GFP Standards; GFP Audit Process; How to Carry Out a Self-Study / Prepare a Portfolio; Methods of Analysis / Using Approach, Deployment, Result, Improvement (ADRI) for the GFP Audit; and Consolidation of Final Questions and Answers.
The five Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) participating in the pilot GFP Audit are Shinas College of Technology (ShCT), A’Sharqiyah University (ASU) ,Majan College (University College), Gulf College (GC) and Oman Medical College (OMC).
