Mr. Elmo Purpura and Dr. Joseph Dayag, English Language Center (ELC) lecturers, conducted ELT workshops on learner autonomy at Sohar College of Applied Sciences, Sohar City, on March 18, 2015.

Participated in by educators from the different educational institutions in Oman, the 40-minute workshops featured the facilitators’ insights and strategies on fostering learner autonomy.

Mr. Purpura tackled  “Dynamic Exploratory Practice in the EFL Classroom”, while Dr. Dayag presented “Process Approach to Writing: Desensitizing Omani Learners to Writing.”

Said workshops were part of the 1st ELT Workshop dubbed “The Role of Autonomy in Empowering Learners.”
