ShCT commends students, faculty mentors of FURAP winning projects
Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) Administration headed by Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mamari congratulated the students and faculty members who served as mentors of the Faculty-Mentored Undergraduate Research Award Program (FURAP) winning projects during a meeting on November 11, 2018, held at the Conference room, Main building.
College Research and Consultancy Committee Head Dr. Ahmed Al Balushi welcomed the winning teams to the meeting and lauded their efforts.
Out of nine projects originally submitted to The Research Council (TRC) for funding, one team from Business Studies Department (BSD) and three teams from Engineering Department (ED) secured funding for their projects.
The group of Shama Al-Zefei, Maryam Ali-Beloushi, and Safiya Al-Rubiee mentored by Dr.Cirio E. Mirano Jr. from BSD, with a project title “Adopting Veblen’s Conspicuous Consumption Theory in Market Creation for Product Substitutes” secured funding.
”Fabrication and Performance Analysis of Modified Solar Water Heaters” submitted by Mohammed Al-Amri, Mudhar Al-Adawi, Al Monther Al Amouri and Saeed Al Saadi, under the supervision of Mr.Raja Thangavelu from ED also secured funding.
Two other projects from ED namely “IOT Based Ardumino Weather Station” by Fatma Al Jabri, Aliyah Al Balushi, Maryam Al Balushi and Fatma Al Farsi supervised by Mr. Aravind Krishnadeva and “Solar Powered Drip Irrigation System – Effective Energy & Water Saving Solution for Sultanate of Oman” by Abdulaziz Al Ghaithi and Ahmed Al Mezeini under the supervision of Mr. Arun S. Gopinath also secured funding.
Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mamari commended the students and faculty mentors and motivated the students to do their best to carry out the project and wished them for successful completion of their projects.
