A group of 19 Mechanical Engineering students visited Sohar Aluminum Power Plant, on March 28, 2019.

The visit aimed at acquainting the students with electrical power generation, power plant layout and its various components.

Training and Lead Engineer Mr. Hameed Senani gave a brief orientation on the safety procedures that the students should follow during the visit.

Chemist Mr. Haitham Khamis Al Balushi explained the Power Plant’s operation.

The students were also given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss combined cycle power plants, desalination plant operation and reverse osmosis processes with Mr. Balushi.

Engineering Department Lecturer Mr. Srinivasa Daya Prasad accompanied the students.
