Hussain Fadhil & Partner LLC - Industry visit by Civil Engineering students
The Civil section of the engineeringdepartmentfrom Shinas College of Technology organized a one-day industrial visit to the Shinas College new building site on 30th September 2015 for B.Tech. students. Mr.A.Kandasamy, lecturer/civil section and Ms.Vani Joshi technician/civil section of Engineering department accompanied this industrial visit. Twenty-six students of the B.Tech-civil section attended the visit.
The purpose of the visit is to attain practical knowledge for the students related to their projects and about the building services. The site is located atShinas College of Technology in the Wilayatdistrict of Shinas, Sultanate of Oman.
Mr. Blesstin, site engineer and Mr. Gineesh, MEP-coordinator of Hussain, Fadhil& Partner LLC, Oman, guided the industrial visit.
They explained cavity walls, along with the concrete blocks. They are using 50 mm extruded polystyrene board. They explained the procedure of placing “ducts” for air-conditioning, which consists of threaded rods, uni-fix and slotted channels. They explained the importance of gravity tests and pressure tests in plumbing. Mesh made of SS or GI is used as a secondary reinforcement at that site.They also explained the importance of butterfly ties and wall ties.
