The Engineering Department, in co-ordination with the OJT Department of Shinas College of Technology arranged an industrial visit for the civil section students inside the college campus on 7th October 2015 for Bachelor students. Dr. Mahmoud Khazalah H.O.S of the civil section arranged the industrial visit. Mr. Shunmuganathan and Mr.Srinivas Boggarapu giving guidance to the students throughout the visit. Twenty-four students of B.Tech-Civil section attended the visit.

The objective of the visit was to encourage the students in terms of their projects and various building services were lively demonstrated with an actual visit of the construction projects and the building services. The site is located at Shinas College of Technology in the Wilayat of Shinas, Sultanate of Oman.

They explained concrete block construction, plastering with aluminum Ferro mesh and electricity pipe conduction. The construction joints were explained in detail regarding the polystyrene board materials used for the construction joints. The scaffolding is a temporary structure on the outside of a building, and is usually made of wooden planks and metal poles, and used by workers while building the blocks, doing repairs, and plastering the walls of the building. The various standards for placing the scaffolding were clearly explained at the site. 

The sanitary pipe connections, clearly explained from the initial stages, were high lighted and students were shown how to avoid leakages in toilets.
