Ms. Nithya Sambamoorthy and Mr. Subhash Kodiyil Raman, Lecturers from the Department of Business Administration, UTAS-Shinas, conducted a training/workshop on “Basic Etiquette in Communication” for the community at Vocational College-Shinas on Monday, 9th October 2023. The event was organized by the Community Engagement Committee, Department of Business Administration, UTAS-Shinas. Faculty members and students from Vocational College attended the training program. The resource speakers explained the importance of basic etiquette in communication in both professional and personal life. During the training, the students were enriched with knowledge on the importance of communication, various communication etiquettes in the areas of verbal and non-verbal communication, technology usage, cultural sensitivity, active listening, and conflict resolution in the workplace, among other topics. It was an interactive session, and the speakers conducted many practical activities such as role-plays, presentations, and case discussions. At the end of the session, Mr. Tariq Mohammed Said Al Mamari, Marketing Lecturer from the Vocational College, gave a vote of thanks and a token of appreciation to the speakers.
