Entrepreneurship students attend business idea generation workshop
The Business Studies Department in collaboration with the lecturers of the entrepreneurship course under the Marketing Section, initiated a seminar for the entrepreneurship students to generate creative business ideas. The activity was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall on November 4, 2015 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. One hundred and five students from the three academic departments of the college namely: I.T., Engineering and Business Studies attended the workshop.
“Generating a feasible business idea is a key element in starting a business endeavor; you cannot prepare a feasibility study, more so with a business plan unless you have a viable business idea,” was the key message of the speaker, Dr. Joef Ines-HOS of Marketing. The workshop provided the participants with tips and guidelines on how to generate ideas which can be transformed into a business unit. The speaker guided the students during the workshop session. Faculty members- Mr. Narsaiah, Mr.Prasad, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Imthiyaz, Mr. Reynald and Mr. Francisco assisted the speaker in his endeavor.
It was announced during the workshop that the best business idea would be selected for an award along with a certificate. The event is the first of its kind conducted by the Business Studies Department with the support of the HOD, Ms. Moza Al-Shihi. Additionally, it aimed at helping and grooming students taking entrepreneurship as their major subject to be trained for their business plan which is a major requirement of the course.
