Business Studies Department Meets ORPIC Officials
An industrial-cum-consultation talk was held among the Business Studies Department, represented by five faculty staff, and key personnel and the manager of the External Office of ORPIC last October 6, 2015. The visit was facilitated by the External Link Committee of the Business Studies Department under Ms. Khadija Al-Isaei regarding the ongoing course review initiative of the department headed by Ms. Moza Al Shihi.
The Manager of Performance and Development and the Industrial Advisor-HR Specialist based in Muscat shared their ideas and thoughts to help the department chart and align the requirements of the industry vis-à-vis the learning outcomes and graduate attributes that leverage the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.
The Business Studies Department Team was led by the Head of Section of Accounting, Mr. Jangaiah Paladi with a representative from the HR Section; Dr. Suneel Kumar Coordinator of Industrial Link Activities Sub-Committee of the External Link Committee and Ms. Sabura Mohammed. Mr. Soofi Azizzudin represented the Marketing Section, a member of the Industrial Link Activities Sub-Committee.
According to Dr. Suneel, the visit was fruitful as it paved way for other endeavours geared towards an industrial link partnership and feedback from the industry. The two hour talk ended with each party recognizing the importance of industry-academe discussion.
