Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) welcomed five auditors from the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) on December 7-9, 2015.

OAAA officials Dr. Andrew Thomas, Prof. Martin Henson, Dr. Sebti Kerbal, Dr Tess Goodliffe and Dr. Nasser Al Hinai visited the college for the Pilot General Foundation Program (GFP) Audit.

ShCT Dean Dr. Ali Al Mughairi, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Ms. Aysha Al Jabri, Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance Mr. Ali Mahmood Al Bulushi, ELC Head of Center Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi, ELC QA Coordinator Mr. Elmo Purpura, and College QAU member Dr. Joaquin Gabayno welcomed the auditors.

During the audit, the OAAA auditors looked into the systems and procedures involved in the GFP of the college. Moreover, they interviewed some ShCT administrators, faculty and students.

SHCT is one of “the four Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) throughout Oman that submitted their GFP programs to go through a pilot GFP audit,” the OAAA Website declares.

According to the OAAA Website, the formal GFP audits will commence in 2016.
