IT Department organized a webinar on Blockchain and its application on November 10, 2020. The webinar aimed to introduce the concepts and applications of Blockchain Technology.

Dr. Gururaj H L, Associate Professor from Computer Science and Engineering – Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru, India, served as the resource speaker. He covered the topics on Blockchain technology, its main elements, understanding of SHA256 Hash and its requirement, immutable ledger, applications on blockchain such as E-voting and crowdfunding, etc.

61 staff from Information Technology and Engineering Departments across the UTAS Campuses in Shinas, Al-Musannah, Nizwa, Ibra, and Salalah attended the webinar. IT Staff Professional Development Committee facilitated the webinar.
