The Staff Professional Development Committee (SPDC) of the Information Technology (IT) Department organized a webinar on “Basics of R Studio” on June 22, 2020.

Actively participated by 53 Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) staff, the event aimed to introduce the R software and its Integrated Development Editor (IDE) and to orient them on how to analyze and visualize data using the said software.

Mathematics lecturer Mr. Kumaresan Gajarajan served as the resource speaker.

Using the Microsoft Team application, he demonstrated the installation of R Studio. He also explained the software’s advantages in analyzing and visualizing data, customizing the R Studio layout, composing an R script file with some commands and comments, and understanding and using various R functions.
