UTAS-Shinas Excellent Academy award, Team Oman ranks 3^rd Place in Huawei ICT Middle East - Final Competition 2020

University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS)– Shinas was named Excellent Academy, and two teams from Oman made it to Huawei ICT Middle East - Final Competition 2020 and one of the teams got the 3^rd place on December 25^th-27^th held at Huawei Office. The team is composed of Abeer Rashid Saif AlSidairi (University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Higher College of Technology), Malik Mohammed abdullah AL-Abdulsalam (University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Shinas) and Mohammed Khamis AL-Harrasi (Arab Open University) with Ms. Salama Said Al-Kalbani (University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Shinas) as the Tutor.

The other team got the Outstanding Performance and 4th place which is composed of Babpu Debnath (Middle East College) Adil Saleh Jamaan Bait Shaganah (Salalah College Of Technology), Abdullah Sulaiman Al-Kahrusi (Middle East College), with Hiyam Ahmed AlHarthi (University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Higher College of Technology) as their Tutor.

Students were assessed against their theoretical knowledge in AI, Storage, Cloud and 5G for 1 hour. Moreover, students had an exam for continues 6 hours where they were asked to configure a full enterprise network using Huawei Enterprise Network Simulation Platform (eNSP) simulator. 

CEO Chen Bing of Huawei Oman, Vice Chancellor Dr. Said AL Rubai of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, and Dean Dr. Ali AL Harthi of University of Technology and Applied Sciences from Higher College attended the said event.             

50,000 students from the Middle East and 400 academies registered in the competition. 13 teams, 38 studs, 30 tutors made it to the Regional Final.

The winner will represent the Middle East in the Global Final competition.
