The Alumni Committee of the Information Technology Department conducted an online Alumni Talk titled “Invest Yourself” for the Alumni Exiting Students, and On-the-Job Trainees of the IT Department. The talk took place on 20^th October 2021, via MS Teams. Ms. Safia Al Jabri, Administration TED CODE Team, ShCT Alumna, and Ms. Salama Al Kalbani, HOS of the IT Networking Section and member of the IT Alumni Committee, served as the resource speakers. The first speaker, Ms. Safia, talked about how the participants can successfully navigate in the job market and improve their job seeking techniques and opportunities. Emphasizing the relevance of managing expectations between dreams, challenges, and reality, she also talked about what participants could do after graduation and discussed ways of creating job opportunities to build the future. The second part of the program focused on interview techniques and how to answer common interview questions. Ms. Salama, provided practical advice and ideas to help students prepare well for job interviews and increase their chances of getting hired. The program ended with Ahmed Al Shibli, an alumnus of the university and participant of the event, who shared his experiences about how he got a job after graduating.
