The English Language Center (ELC), spearheaded by Mr. Nasser AL Hindasi, Curriculum and Teaching Methods Section Head, and Dr. Elmo Purpura, ELC Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator, conducted an awareness workshop on “GFP Common Quality Audit Portfolio and OAAA Quality Audit Visit” on January 9, 2020 at the Theatre, Engineering Building.

The workshop aimed at familiarizing the whole General Foundation Program (GFP) lecturers of Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) with the following: GFP Portfolio (overview, ADRI approach, evidence presentation and improvement plan), GFP Quality Audit Visit Timeline and Preparation, Staff and Students Awareness Program and Interviews with the GFP stakeholders.

The workshop kicked off with the opening remarks delivered by College Dean Dr. Ahmed Al Mamari, followed by Ms. Maryam Al Aufi, ShCT QA Unit Head, giving insights on the GFP preparations.

The GFP scopes were presented by Mr. Ali Al Balushi (scope 1), Mr. Nasser Al Hindasi (scope 2), Ms. Amal Al Jahwari (scope 3), and Mr. Hussein Al Balushi (scope 4).

In addition, Dr. Elmo Purpura shed light on the awareness program of the GFP Common Quality Audit Portfolio (QAP) and the improvement plan including preparations for interviews.

The Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) GFP Audit Visit team is set to visit ShCT on March 15-19, 2020 to verify and validate the submitted GFP-QAP.
