ELC celebrates Cultural Day, Year-End Party
The English Language Center (ELC) celebrated ‘Cultural Day and Year-End Party’ at the ELC Building, on July 8, 2019.
ELC Head Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi commenced the program by welcoming everyone and expressing his gratitude to all the level and committee coordinators, and the faculty for their commitment and hard work this year 2018-2019.
English Language Program (ELP) Section Head Mr. Ahmed Al Saadi, who will be leaving the College to continue his doctoral studies, thanked the ELC administration and his colleagues for their unwavering support.
College Dean Dr. Ahmed Al Mamari and Mr. Ali Al Balushi then awarded the level coordinators, and the committee coordinators and their members with certificates of recognition.
ELC lecturers Dr. Karthikeyan Chokalingam, Ms. Ayesha Pratap, Mr. Mohammed Kamaluddin, Mr. M.G. Anandapamanabhan, Ms. Samar Mouneimne, Dr. Joseph Dayag, Mr. Saif Al Weshahi, and Mr. Ahmed Al Saadi, who are all leaving the College, were honored with gifts.
After the awarding, everyone sampled the different cuisines prepared by the Omani, Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Jordanian and African faculty, who also showcased their culture by wearing their traditional attires.
College Dean Dr. Ahmed Al Mamari, Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance Mr. Ali Al Alawi, ETC Head Mr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Business Studies Department Head Dr. Badar Al Shabibi, IT Head Ms. Amina Al Jabri, IT Head of Section Ms. Amna Al Kaabi, and former ELC lecturer Mr. Saif Al Weshahi graced the event.
The gathering was organized by the Staff Welfare team of the Staff Support Committee.
