ELC bids adieu to two lecturers
ShCT’s English Language Center (ELC) faculty bade farewell to two brilliant, active and committed ELC lecturers Dr. Joaquin G. Gabayno Jr., and Dr. Sarath Withanarahchci Samaranayake in a program held at the ELC 2nd Floor Lobby, ELC Building, on December 26, 2017.
ELC Head Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the services rendered by both lecturers to the Center, and to the College in general.
Dr. Joaquin rendered a decade of service which includes eight years with ELC as a lecturer and QA Committee Coordinator. Later on, he was absorbed as a member of ShCT’s Quality Assurance Unit.
On the other hand, Dr. Sarath served for five years as a lecturer. He was also an active member of the Center’s QA Committee.
Both lecturers were active in presenting papers and conducting workshops, locally and internationally.
Meanwhile, ELC faculty expressed their appreciation and gratitude through a powerpoint presentation and group singing.
At the end of the program, Dr. Joaquin and Dr. Sarath received a token of appreciation from the Center and a plaque of appreciation from the College which was handed over by ShCT’s HR Head Ms. Fawziya Al Jabri,.
The program was organized by ELC’s Staff Support Committee headed by Mr. Given Chakalisa.
