Upon request from Engr. Abdul Hamed Al Futeisi, Electrical Engineer, Haya Water Company, a visit of the faculty of Engineering department of UTAS-Shinas was organized, to explore the possibility of collaborative research. The faculty team was led by Mr. Mahesh Aphale, Coordinator of the Industry and Community Engagement Committee of Engineering Department. Dr. Lenin Anselm, Coordinator of Research and Consultancy Committee of Engineering Department, Mr. Fahad Al Maqbali, Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Hud Al Saadi, Lecturer in Civil Engineering, Mr. Khalifa AL Quri, Trainer in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Abdulaziz Al Mamari, Technician in Electrical Engineering and Mr. Yousuf Al Alawi, Technician in Civil Engineering, took part in the visit. The visiting team was welcomed by Mr. Galib Ali Al Maqbali, Director Sewage Stations, North Al Batinah Region, Haya Water Company. He explained the role of Haya Water Company, Sewage Treatment and Effluent Treatment and about the layout of the STP at Sanaya, Sohar. Electrical Engineer, Mr. Abdulhamed Mohammed Al Maqbali, guided the visitors to the plant after a brief HSE induction delivered by Mr. Kevin Krishna.  Laboratory Technician Ms. Muna Ghanem Rashid Al Badia, explained about the tests conducted and procedures observed at the laboratory facility of the plant. The visit aimed at exploring opportunities of collaborative research projects in the near future.
