A group of 21 Bachelor in Electrical Engineering students from the Electrical Engineering Section of the Engineering Department (ED) visited Sohar Aluminium Power Plant, Suhar Industrial Estate, Suhar, on December 06, 2018.

ED lecturer Mr. Karimulla Syed, accompanied the students.

Power Plant Operation Training Coordinator Mr. Hamed Al Sinani started with a brief presentation about the company, he then demonstrated to the students about various Safety Procedures that are followed in industries, operational and maintenance processes for producing the power.

During the visit, the group observed the plant major equipment like gas turbines, steam turbines air compressor, operation of alternators. The operation of 6 transformers of 215MVA also described routine and preventive maintenance within the company.
