Bachelor/ Advanced Diploma Civil studes visit City Centre construction site
In order to expose students to field work and understand the importance of the safety features followed in Civil Engineering construction works, a total of 52 Bachelor/ Advanced Diploma Civil students from the Civil Section of the Engineering Department (ED) visited the construction site of City Centre at Suhar, on 6th February 2018.
Mr. Khasge Santosh, ED lecturer, together with Mr. Mohammed Sadaqath Ali Khan, Al Turki Enterprises planning engineer, accompanied and explained the ongoing construction activities. The construction of City Centre Suhar is a prestigious asset for the city as it provides space for showrooms, outlets, and food court as well as movie screens meant to entertain local and international tourists.
HSC Manager Miss Una and Majjid Al Futtaim Project Manager Mr. Mourice interacted with the students and explained to them the importance of safety Civil Engineering. Students also got an opportunity to understand the work drawings, charts showing the details of project scheduling, site layout with the provisions for the assembly points for safety as well as stacking the construction materials and precast, prefabricated units.
Before departing, the faculty members and students extended their heartfelt gratitude to those who shared their knowledge and expertise during the visit. They also expressed their gratitude to Mr. Sriram S., Asst. Commercial Manager-ATE and Project Director City Center Suhar, for accommodating the students and working with ED and the On-the-Job (OJT) Department of Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) in order to organize the said visit.
