BSD new students inducted
The Business Studies Department’s (BSD) new students were inducted in a program held at the College Multi-Purpose Hall on October 10, 2017.
BSD Head Ms. Khadija Al Isaei and Head of Counseling and Graduates Follow Up Department Mr. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Ali Al Farsi spearheaded the program.
The program started with the distribution of the BSD Student Handbooks to the new students.
Ms. Iman Al Rubaiai, Head of BSD’s Accounting Section, discussed various issues that would impact the students’ stay at the college.
Ms. Iman explained the importance and career paths of graduates of the three specializations offered by BSD, namely; Marketing, Human Resource and Accounting.
She emphasized the different ways of choosing a specialization as she discussed the new rules and regulations with regard to registration and probation.
Ms Iman also enlightened the participants on ShCT’s academic system, which includes the courses offered, degree audit, CGPA calculations on different scenarios; such as with or without failed subjects.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ahmed Al Farsi tackled the challenges that confront students.
He also shared pieces of advice to students regarding issues of communication with families, observance of religious responsibility, demeanor and values.
