ShCT’s Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), together with the General Foundation Program Unit (GFPU) and the English Language Center (ELC), facilitated a workshop on GFP Self-Assessment Report Writing at the ShCT VIP Room on May 22, 2017.

A team from Ibra College of Technology’s (ICT) GFPU attended the workshop, which underscored the ADRI (Approach, Deployment, Result, & Improvement) format.

The mini-workshop aimed to orient the participants on the ShCT Team’s experiences as well as the challenges encountered during the pilot audit conducted by Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) in 2015.

ShCT Dean Dr. Khalid Zayed Al Muharrami welcomed the participants as he explained the significance of the GFP Quality Audit Scope.

ShCT’s ELC Head Mr. Abdullah Al Balushi facilitated a discussion on the GFP Audit Processes.

ELC Quality Assurance Coordinator Mr. Elmo Purpura gave a brief presentation on the latest ADRI Cycle, while QAU Head Dr. Syed Sulaiman Hussaini discussed the Review and Application of ADRI.

QAU Administrative Member Dr. Joaquin Gabayno Jr. shared his insights and experiences during the actual OAAA audit; whereas, QAU Administrative Member Mr. Dhanasekaran Neelakantan  shared some points on ISAA.

Moreover, IT QA Coordinator Dr. Mary Jane Aragon and Mathematics Head of Section Mr. Deogracias Joaquin shared their experiences during the writing of the GFP pilot audit report.

During the workshop, the participants worked on the four scopes of GFP Writing. Each group presented their initial output while the ShCT Team shared their comments and suggestions.

ICT-ELC Head Mr. Basim Mubarak Juma Al-Mushaifri expressed gratitude to the host college after the workshop.

The guests were led by ICT’s ELC Head and ICT Benchmarking in-Charge Dr. Paz Marie Somcio.
