The Alumni Committee of the Information Technology Department at UTAS Shinas conducted a 2-day workshop entitled ‘Building IoT Robotics for Education – Advanced’ on the 28^th and 29^th  March 2022. The workshop aimed to advance the participants’ skills and knowledge in IoT (Internet of Things) and the use of IoT in Robotics was highlighted. Among the applications of IoT Robotics that were practiced by the trainees in the workshop were, face recognition and identification, voice recognition, and environment monitoring.

Dr. Venkadeshan Ramalingam and Mr. Rajesh Rajamoni Kala, faculty members of the Networking Section of the IT Department, served as trainers at the workshop. A total of seven  Alumni and OJT students participated. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the trainees who successfully completed the 2-day workshop. The culminating activity was attended by the Head of the IT Department, Ms. Amina Salim Al-Jabri, and Dr. Shija Gangadharan – IT Alumni Committee Head.
