ShCT Networking Students Win in CISCO NetRiders Competition
ShCT’s Networking students won during the first and second rounds of CISCO NetRiders 2017 competition held in the college on May 11, 2017 and June 15, 2017 respectively.
Twenty-seven networking students from ShCT participated in Round 1 of the Cisco NetRiders Competition. The students participated in three categories: 7 students participated in CCNA, 7 in CCENT, and 13 in ITE.
Further, 13 networking students from ShCT participated in Round 2 of the Cisco NetRiders competition.
This competition brings together over one million students worldwide and unites them as members of the largest Network Academy programmes. .
Various prizes will be distributed to the winners of each category; the top prize is a study trip to San Jose, California, USA for five winners in the final round of the CCNA category.

- Khaloud Said Khamis Al Muqbali
- Nasrin Fahad Said Al Nasiri

- Fatema Said Mohammed Al Ubaidani
ShCT students who qualified in the second round include:
- Afraa Saif Khalfan Al Ka’Abi for CCNA
- Asim Sulaiman Obaid Al-Mahrezi for CCENT
ShCT student Afraa Khalfan Al Ka’Abi, the sole Omani winner in the second round, secured the sixth place in the Middle East Region in the CCNA category.
Networking faculty members who trained the students include: Mr. Bhaskar, Mr. Bernard, Mr Naheed, Mr. Charles, and Mr. Nouman.
The event was guided by Ms. Amina Salim Mohd Al-Jabri, Head of IT Department and coordinated by Mr. M. Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, Networking lecturer.
Ms. Amina said that “the Cisco NetRiders competition is an excellent opportunity for the ShCT students majoring in Networking and Security to compete with other students from the various Cisco academies worldwide.”
