Induction Program for New Students Majoring in IT
The Information Technology Department conducted a Student Induction Program on 3rd and 4th October 2023, for students entering the Diploma I year program, in collaboration with the Counseling and Graduates Follow-Up Department. The objective of this program was to introduce students to the department and provide essential information to facilitate their university studies. The program was divided into three sections.
First, Ms. Pradeepa, Dr. Sujatha, and Ms. Anu introduced students to the Information Technology Department, showcasing the available lab facilities and various support activities for students. Ms. Amna, the Head of the IT Department, offered an overview of the department and encouraged students to participate in departmental events. Ms. Kalithem Al-Jabri and Mr. Saud Al-Jabri then informed students about the services provided by the Educational Technologies Center. Ms. Fatma Al Kahrousi introduced students to the University Library and its various services. Following that, Ms. Nadia Al-Saiedi and Ms. Fatema Al-Omrani discussed the Counseling and Graduates Follow-Up Department and the services it offers at the academic and behavioral levels. They elaborated on the significance of the SGPA and CGPA in shaping a student's academic career. Additionally, they provided tips on avoiding academic probation, how to overcome it if necessary, and stressed the importance of effective study habits. Students received advice on effective study techniques, including time management, self-learning, developing a study plan, and more.
To conclude the event, the students were thanked for their active participation and interaction with the lecturers. The presenters extended their best wishes to the new students for their academic journey, urging them to strive for excellence in both academic and personal development.
