TESOL educator conducts workshop on public speaking, storytelling
Ms. Catherine Jane Crowley, a seasoned TESOL educator from Polyglot Institute, conducted a workshop on Public Speaking and Storytelling at A230 on Oct. 5, 2017.
Ms. Crowley engaged the participants and shared valuable tips and strategies that would help them to excel in telling stories and delivering speeches.
“Claim your space. Narrate, perform and persuade!” highlighted the workshop presenter, who has taught English in Oman, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Taiwan and South Korea.
Moreover, Ms. Crowley advised the participants to watch Toastmasters and TED Talks on Youtube as those videos show excellent presentations given by successful people from different walks of life.
The workshop was made possible by Head of Section for English Language Programs (HOS-ELP) Mr. Ahmed Al Saadi, a former colleague of the presenter at Sohar University.
Attended by Post-Foundation students and several ELC lecturers, the workshop aimed to provide the participants practical insights on public speaking and storytelling.
At the end of the workshop, the HOS-ELP expressed gratitude to Ms. Crowley as he bestowed her a certificate of appreciation.
