One of the academic papers of English Language Center (ELC) lecturers Mr. Sarath Samanarayake and Dr. Joaquin Gabayno Jr. was recently published in the international, peer-reviewed journal Education and Linguistics Research (ELR).

The lecturers’ paper titled: “The Efficacy of In-House Materials on Academic Reading Proficiency of EFL College Level Omani Students” was published in ELR’s (ISSN 2377-1356) Volume 2, Number 2 issue.

The lecturers’ paper ascertained that “in-house materials are more effective in helping English Foreign Language (EFL) tertiary level students to improve their academic reading skills than commercially produced textbooks in EFL programs in the context of technological education in Oman.”

ELR Journal is published by  Macrothink Institute based in  the United States of America.

Meanwhile, Mr. Samanarayake and Dr. Gabayno  are currently working on an institutional research titled: “The Assessment of Multiple Intelligences among Selected Foundation and Post Foundation ShCT College Students: Implication for a Proposed Teachers’ Guidelines”.
