In a general faculty meeting held at A214-215 on February 15, 2017, English Language Center (ELC) Head Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi urged the ELC faculty to cooperate with the administrators in preparing for the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) Audit.

Underscoring the importance of cooperation, Mr. Ali informed the faculty that ELC will once again undergo Quality Assurance Audit under OAAA in November 2017.

It must be noted that ShCT was one of the only four higher learning institutions throughout Oman that successfully participated in the General Foundation Program (GFP) Pilot Audit held in 2015. OAAA audited ShCT’s GFP on December 7-9, 2015.

Meanwhile, the HOC reminded the ELC lecturers to reduce the number of papers used for photocopying and to continually upload their e-Course files, an initiative which was recently introduced at the start of the current semester.

“Try your best to reduce the number of papers used for photocopying. Share the soft copies of instructional materials to your students,” Mr. Ali encouraged the faculty.

In the same meeting, Mr. Ahmed Al Saadi, Head of Section of ELC’s English Language Programs, discussed some points particularly on load distribution and exam invigilation.
