English Language Center (ELC) Coordinators Mr. Hamed Al Qasmi and Ms. Maryam Al-Aufi conducted a professional development workshop for the ELC faculty at A-214 and A-215 on May 24, 2017.

The workshop titled “Each One, Teach One” introduced to the lecturers some teaching strategies and educational websites that foster fun and effective learning in an EFL setting.

The facilitators demonstrated how to use small portable white boards and flip charts to promote group collaboration and encourage healthy competition among the students.

They also shared a few ice breakers that may be downloaded from http://brainden.com.

The coordinators encouraged the lecturers to customize instructional materials which may be easily designed with the aid of the website “Teacher’s Corner.”

ELC Head of Center Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Balushi awarded the facilitators a certificate of appreciation after the workshop.

ELC’s Staff Professional Development Committee, headed by Mr. Saif Al Washahi, organized the workshop.
