BSD students, lecturers visit CBO
Business Studies Department (BSD) lecturers and students visited the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) on February 1, 2017.
BSD’s External Link Committee organized the industrial visit with an aim to give students an opportunity to recognize the work environment in the banking sector.
In the first session, the bank professionals gave a general overview about the structure of the banking sector.
The next session was on electronic fraud, while the final session dwelt on the main roles of the CBO in the Omani economic system and the strategies used to develop it.
The visitors had an open discussion with the bank experts regarding the approach adopted by the CBO to minimize the negative impact of oil price decline on the Omani economy.
As well, the participants enquired about the CDO’s recruitment and selection process.
The visit also included a closer look at the CBO exhibit in which students got an opportunity to discuss extensively the different stages of the Omani monetary system.
Meanwhile, the BSD lecturers underscored the need for further interaction between CBO and BSD.
