UTAS Shinas Community Engagement Collaborates with the British Embassy's Tamkeen Program
The University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Shinas partnered with the British Embassy's Tamkeen program in an event held on 19th September 2023, at UTAS Sohar. This collaboration, aligned with Oman Vision 2040, aimed to empower Omani women as key contributors to the nation's growth.
The Tamkeen Pop-Up Event, organized by the British Embassy in Muscat, introduced Omani women to the mentoring program. Ms Razwana Khawaja, Tamkeen mentor and UTAS's Community Engagement Committee member, shared her mentoring experiences, inspiring Omani women to participate.
The event attracted a diverse audience, including UTAS Shinas English Club students, staff from Student Support and Counselling Department. In addition, Omani women from various sectors and female students from Sohar showed strong interest, highlighting the program's community significance.
Tamkeen's focus on empowerment aligns with UTAS's commitment to community engagement. This collaboration supports Oman Vision 2040's goal of empowering Omani women as integral contributors to national growth.
