ShCT welcomes delegates to 6th Annual Students’ Forum

Shinas College of Technology (ShCT) welcomed about 80 student-delegates from the different Colleges of Technology (CoTs) to the  6th Annual Students’ Forum held on May 15-17, 2017. 
 
The Annual Students’ Forum was launched in 2012, under the auspices of the Ministry of Manpower, to bring together student- delegates from the seven COTs, namely: Higher College of Technology, Al Musanna College of Technology, Ibra College of Technology, Nizwa College of Technology, Ibri College of Technology, Salalah College of Technology and ShCT.
 
On the first day, ShCT Dean Dr. Khalid Zayed Al-Muharrami— along with some staff and students—welcomed delegates from other colleges at Crowne Plaza Hotel.  
 
The delegates were oriented about the three-day activity.  In the afternoon, all delegates were brought to ShCT for a short tour. The first day’s activities came to a conclusion in the football field with the unveiling of the official logo for the event.
 
On the second day, the program started with the Opening Ceremony. H.E. Sheikh Mohana bin Saif Al-Lamki, Governor of North Al-Batinah, Dr. Muna Salim Al Jardaniyah, Undersecretary, Dr. Abdulhakim Al-Ismaeli, Director General, Dr. Ali Saud Al-Mughairi, Assistant Director General for Technological Education & Vocational Training at Ministry of Manpower and the Dean of the Colleges of Technology graced the ceremony. The delegates attended and participated in the exhibition, lectures, and workshops conducted by representatives from companies.
 
On the third day, the delegates attended the lecture on Building Leadership Ability presented by Sheikh Salim Al-Noumani and the Exhibition on Entrepreneurship prepared by the ShCT Students and Staff.  
 
The event culminated with the awarding of certificates of participation and recognition of academic excellence.
 
The 6th Annual Students’ Forum aimed to recognize students’ academic achievements, foster camaraderie and unity among students, enhance students’ engagement, nurture students’ talents and skills, support a responsible sharing of knowledge and skills, provide opportunities to explore different areas of disciplines, and stimulate students’ awareness about social responsibility.
