IT Alumni and Students Attend a Seminar on Empowering Students with AI
The IT Alumni Committee hosted a seminar titled "Empowering Students with AI: 'Prompt Engineering' Strategies for Academic Achievement" on 21st March 2023, in Room A-138 of the Main Building as part of its dedication to offering relevant training to alumni and students. Mr. Elvin N. Arango, a programmer from the Educational Technologies Center (ETC), conducted the seminar with the following objectives: understand the basics of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can enhance academic performance, discover the value of prompt engineering and how it can create productive study habits, explore various AI-powered tools and resources that can help students increase their productivity and efficiency, create a customized prompt engineering plan that incorporates AI tools and strategies for academic success, and gain useful tips for implementing prompt engineering techniques in real-world academic settings. In this seminar, the participants learned about machine learning and AI, the awareness of existing and ongoing AI projects in the real world, AI thinking, branches of AI, NLP LLM (Natural Language Processing—Large Language Model), and prompt engineering structure and techniques. Additionally, the participants interacted with AI LLM via ChatGPT. The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the resource speaker and the participants.
