HR Training on Leadership and Impact
The Human Resources Department of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences Shinas implemented a two-day training program titled “Leadership and Impact Industry” on 23rd and 25th May 2022. Mr. Abdullah Al-Buraiki, Head of the Human Resources Department at the university, highlighted the importance of this program in developing leadership skills in the workplace, as it targeted the supervisory and administrative categories. The program was attended by 32 employees from various departments of the university. The program was presented by English Language Lecturer Dr. Hani Al Balushi, Doctor of Educational Leadership and Administration, in which he focused on the development of the concept of leadership over time, and the theories and models associated with it. Dr. Hani reviewed a set of important practices of a leader according to the widespread leadership challenge model, ranging from the leader’s ability to implement what is expected of others, abide by promises and commitments, develop a clear vision and sharing it with team members. He also talked about using innovative ways to accomplish work in the face of challenges and setting practical, relevant and measurable goals, allowing team members the space to perform their tasks and develop professionally, with reward schemes to acknowledge achievements. The two-day program was concluded in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al-Shahri, Dean of the University, who thanked the participants and the program presenter.
