Welcome to the Mechanical Engineering Section of Shinas College of Technology.
The Mechanical Engineering programme of Shinas College of Technology aims to prepare our graduates to become professional engineers and technicians. This is achieved by providing our students with a solid technological education that will enable them to help their nation, Sultanate of Oman. Additionally, the department provides opportunities for the enhancement of students’ capabilities through meaningful interactions with esteemed professionals in the field. In summary, it is the Section’s vision to produce graduates who are fully prepared and interested for life-long learning.
The Section has well-equipped and sophisticated teaching and research laboratories that include Engineering Graphics, CAD, Mechanics, Materials and Manufacturing Operations, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Design and Management. These facilities play a major role in the professional and practical development of our students.
The Mechanical Engineering Section also provides consultancy services and short courses to the local community and industry. Indeed, the Mechanical Engineering Section contributes to the economic, social and cultural development of the Omani society.
