The 'Human Resources Management' specialization prepares the graduates for a career in the field of Human Resource Management in various industries including manufacturing, marketing, banking, food and beverage, tourism, pharmaceutical, etc. The program is designed to equip the students with in depth understanding of various concepts, principles, theories, and philosophies in the areas of "Human Resources Management", designed for students to seek employment and facilitate the integration process in the corporate environment so that they can be productive upon employment.
The students are trained in the rudiments of HR which includes Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Management of Diversity, Psychology at Work, Managing Troubled Employees, Teamwork Management, Recruitment and Selection, and Compensation and Benefits. They would also be facing the challenges of learning the craft of HR through International Issues in HR, Performance Appraisal, Manpower Planning, Employee Relations, Practical HR Planning, Human Resource Information System and Business Strategy in HRM all geared towards a more diverse platform for student’s employability addressing the needs in various industries within Oman with a better grasp on globalization context. Great emphasis is laid on Research Methodology skills, ability to prepare Project Work along with the ability of speaking in public. The program senses that an essential set of attributes are required for graduate students upon becoming members of an organization.
Furthermore, the plan will help students in confidently accepting the appropriate role in the organization to contribute to the ongoing growth of the nation. Likewise, the program will also assist the students in appreciating their role in the organization and how they can make meaningful contributions as strategic partners in building a globally competitive organization.
Finally, it is a pleasure to work with the staff and serve the young enthusiastic student body in achieving the mission and vision of the department.
